Icarus Miniatures: The Icarus Project
« on: 07 September 2015, 01:37:00 PM »
Yet another small skirmish ca. 28mm* scifi miniature game on KS. While the renders are nice it doesn't appear hugely original (in regards to anything really, with the caveat I've only read about 1/3 of the rules so far) but at least they have one miniature already available which makes a little difference from the norm.

*) they say 35mm but it looks to be somewhat overstated:

EDIT - removed the (KICKSTARTER) text from subject since their KS was a failure

The KS project died largely ignored and, one suspects, unnoticed. However IM has managed to forge ahead anyway and some new miniatures have become available, including "probably some of the best looking aliens out there in Sci-Fi games right now":

EDIT - same as above

I like the alien miniature but the rest is just a repeat of so many other concepts...

I can see why it possibly failed because there was very little that was inspired... apart from the aliens :(

Yep. Those alien miniatures are very nice. Not too human looking but human enough to look sentient.

I realy like these miniatures so much!  :-*

In my opinion they have an unique feature: They look sooo realistic.

The human normal Troopers with helmet and the nexus alien are so cool.

So i did a big exception and got in this Kickstarter (pledged Strike Force).

I red the rules. They are solid, i think. No innovations.
Maybe i will use the Rogue Stars rules with these figures.

I admire the staying power of Anto Cerrato and his dream of a cool scifi skirmish game.

Greetings,
Jan

Only a few hours to go and the Kickstarter will end.

I am happy that the next race in production next year will be the ji'tar. The Artwork looks really cool.

Who else is in with a pledge or already ownes some of the minis?
I have red a review on dakka dakka.

Greetings,
Jan

@Jan

I backed the Kickstarter and have Gabriel Cross and some Nexus Grunts from when they were first released. Good quality miniatures and well made and designed. Glad the kickstarter got off the ground this time, and looking forward to the next one when more races are released for their next kickstarter.
