You know I once heard a story that the space shuttle only received funding if it could fit a tank in its compartment. This is probably  just a bad rumour, a quick google check shows nothing of the sort. However one wonders. If this would be true, then you would assume they figured what tanks did and did not fit, and since the shuttle cost so much money, would they not also at least look into how to outfit such a tank for space/moon conditions? How would that look, what tank would it be. How stupid is all of this?
