Spirit Games currently have it in stock...

My maxim when looking for rules sets is if in doubt go to Spirit Games.

It's by Chris Peers, and I hear it is similar to his dinosaur hunting rules, which I own. They are not very complicated to learn, and quite a bit of fun.

Rules are from Wargames Illustrated. I have them, although am yet to use them for anything other than drooling over.

Nicely done, those teddy bears died for a very good cause!

I've got that same DZ Leaping Smilodon on my painting table right now, as a matter of fact. Neat figure, I should get off my rump and finish the poor kitty.

Looking forward to more!

As someone else upthread mentioned: where are the birch trees from? They're a great change from the usual ordinary trees.

My Lord, that is the coolest thing ever.  I've seen guys use pieces of the fur for wheat fields and such, but never as a gaming mat.  Questions in no particular order.

1. Do those rules support multiple players well?  Does one person (perhaps the host) play the part of the animals, and the other players control hunting parties?

2. So, can you just walk into a fabric store and buy a 4ft x 6ft piece of teddy bear fur?  Is is cheaper, the same, or more expensive than a game mat?

3.  I second the birch trees.  What's the method?  Are they just made from twigs or wire?

Anyway, absolutely love your game, so damn inspiring,

JET

Hi,

Thanks to all for the compliments and encouragement. This is a really cool community to belong too.

The rules do support multiple players. I usually have 3 players controlling 3 different hunting parties, and 1 guy controlling the animals. I just umpire and tell people what to do.

Yes, you just walk into the fabric store and buy the piece at 4' x 6,' or larger if you wish. I think the cost was $6.99 per yard.

The birch trees were purchased at the same craft/fabric store. They were part of the 50% off Christmas decor sale.

I guess my question kinda got lost in the first page and with all the compliments coming from left and right. :)  How exactly did you color the fur? Did you use an airbrush?

The rivers and swamp were painted with brush and craft paint; one dark blue, one light blue for highlights.

Thanks for the reply. That makes this table even more astonishing. I've tried painting and drybrushing teddy fur and it is a pain!
