They're not exactly big books, though, are they? I'm not bothered in slightest that rules are scattered, I'm just glad and happy the game is being supported with all these extras, and the rules are still easy to find. But then that's just me I guess :)

I would like to have a 'comprehensive' treasure & spell table that combines the base rulebook and expansions.

I'm thinking of making cards for all treasures. Makes it much easier IMO. Pick a deck of treasure cards and flip a card to see what you receive. Also gives you the choice of combining several decks of cards, getting more varied treasures.

It may depend on the way your games or campaigns are organised, but I don't think I ever needed more than 2 books for a game: core rulebook and the one containing whatever scenario we were playing. Treasure, creatures and special rules will all be found in the book containing the scenario. Soldiers from other books are found on your wizard sheet, which means the few things that could carry over are complicated items or spells, if any (and only if doing subsequent expansions with the same warband).

As for Forgotten Pacts specifically, I actually really enjoy what I've seen so far. The extra rules are a bit more Summoner-centric than I'd have liked (Lich and Pits were particularly interesting for Necromancers and Witches, but the former also contained many ways of fighting them, while the latter had spells and items for most other schools too), but I do enjoy the ideas in it and especially the new scenarios. Creatures are a bit exotic, but plenty of weird things that can be made or proxied to use as stand-ins.

I feel collecting miniatures, painting and designing terrain is all part of the hobby and Frostgrave is great for it. A friend and I meet pretty much every 2nd Saturday. We are presently going through "Hunt for the Golem", and have finished "Dark Alchemy" (did it as a co-op). I have all of the miniatures for "Hunt for the Golem", I just paint up the ones we need for the weeks scenario, mean while my friend and I are collecting for the next book "The Lich Lord" (between the 2 of us we have most of that).

The first thing I did when I got "Forgotten Pacts" was look at the scenarios and than look through Reaper Bones for miniatures I could use, (already started collecting couldn't resist). Have the first scenario covered.

4 (2 boxes) of these should cover the scenario.

Doesn't have the 2 heads but is close :), the wings should be separate.

They are fairy cheap, and even if I don't use them again, they will be fun to paint. We collect one scenario each, so stay ahead of the games we are playing.

In a way, I can see where daz is coming from...
I was a little disappointed that the Gnolls didn't feature prominently in the Breeding Pits scenarios if I'm honest. However at least the barbarians (and the earlier cultists) at least pop up in scenarios, and all three can turn up as wandering monsters.
It's all about expectations - if you just want a box set from which you can build a cool warband, then they're great, but if you bought the plastics thinkng the figures would play an integral part in the scenarios, then it's understandable that you' be put out.
I suppose my advice would be to do your research before commiting to the Nickstarter (or don't be surprised if you've already bought Lich Lord or Breeding Pits).
As for specific monsters and terrain - yes that can be annoying if you want to stick to the scenarios to the letter!
However there's nothng that says you -have- to do exactly what the books say. Have fun using your imagination to come up with alternatives :D

I dunno, I sure wished the Barbarian box had been out when we were filming it. At one point in a scenario we had 30+ Barbarian berskerkers descend on the table!  ;) lol

All life is an experiment.
The more experiments you make, the better.

Just don't let anyone bring a Potion of Invulnerability or it turns into the South Park where they kill boars in the woods. ;)
