Saburo Aritomo, Meiji Japanese Officer
« on: 21 December 2016, 10:27:23 PM »
I just picked up a new Reaper Chronoscope figure named "Saburo Aritomo, Meiji Japanese Officer"

I was wondering if this figure is a particularly accurate depiction of an "officer" of this era and if so what kind of officer (army? navy?) what would you recommend as a painting guide?  If I just google for picture so "Meiji Era Japanese Officer" most of the actual officers appear to have plumes in the top of their caps so I'm nor sure if I'm looking at the right thing.

Thanks!
Mike

I have no idea... but I just wanted to say that it is a nice looking figure so it would be great if it was useful. :D

He looks like a Japanese Army Officer of the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905), possibly a captain as depicted here: .

I think the officers during the Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895) were slightly differently uniformed but thats a possibility too.
