Beautiful, thanks for doing great minis for an under-represented conflict!

Beautiful figures.
Have always been interested in this period to game.
Looks like I will be ordering some soon.

Gorgeous sculpts and the painting is exquisite. Congratulations!

Shouldn't be a problem  :) Even the old 1886model uniform could have still been in use but I believe that after 1922 puttees were introduced to the khaki uniform but the take over wasn't wide spread.

In 1906 the blue material was still being used for new uniforms just because of a backlog of it.

You thinking BoB?

They are gorgeous, and I will send the link to our local guy who loves Japanese minis.

The red cross makes me curious, is that historical?  I have never before seen any Japanese wearing a red cross.

I believe the red cross was introduced when the Japanese went to the world getting as much from it as possible (they sent people everywhere) and certainly during the Boxer Rebellion they were used in the field (I've seen a very poor photo in an Osaka museum many years ago before the interest in the period took hold).

So I can only assume that they were used in the field in the Russo-Japanese war.

Will there be Russians too at some later point?

These look really good, but I can't start one more army at the moment.

Rude of me not to say in my earlier post, but Messrs Hicks and Bradley have done you proud there, good luck with the venture.

Very inspiring, there are some inspiring pics here too

I am pretty sure I have a picture from the RJW showing an armband in the field but is on the blue winter uniform.

As for Chinese Warlord / Back of Beyond I certainly intend using these, having another use was one of the reasons I started painting mine in khaki.(there aren't that many buttons for the more anal amongst us to count anyway ;D)

Really for interwar, they need to have the crown lowered and enlarged in circumference (easy enough with a bit of puttee). Carving puttees on every figure might be a bit more exacting.
