This is Not a Test/TNT Questions and Queries
« on: 11 January 2017, 12:35:47 AM »
Hey all,

Just received my hardback rulebook in the mail yesterday and promptly dove headfirst into the book to gain all the wonderful knowledge at hand. After reading through from cover to cover, twice, there were a couple questions that I had that I wasn't able to find on my own and I'm hoping someone here with more experience playing the game will be able to help me out so I can introduce this awesome game to a couple friends this weekend.

Ok first off I have a good grasp on the basic rules and how the game is played so I won't be asking for help with that. My only question in regards to the actual rules is in the creatures of the wastes section, there is an entry for a Mountain Cat but on the random roll chart it isn't on there, is this a typo or should it be replaced with something else?

Secondly does anybody have a list of the different markers/tokens of effects that are more likely to happen during a game so I can make some myself?

The only other things I am looking for are Quick Reference Sheets for pretty much everything in the Armory in chart form ex. Melee/Ranged/Armor ect... and last but not least a black and white warband roster sheet suited for an A4 piece of paper.
As a side note if sharing any of these will break any rules then let me know and I will personally contact Joe and ask him myself.

Thanks
Weez

To answer your questions:

1.  That is not a type. There were more critters than tables, so something needed to be left out.  Note that you can swap categories of critters depending on your collection, so any nuisance level works for another.

2.  If you join the TNT Facebook Group, in the Files section, there are some  great tokens made by Ash Barker that you can print out or if you are feeling more daring you can put them into the bottom of bottle caps.  Outside of that all other encounter token and the like are included in the Wasteland Essentials 1 PDF.  That has counters for unexploded ordinance, zombie nests, dangerous winds, and the like.

3.  I don't remember if anyone did up a Quick Reference Sheet for the weapons in the game.  But there is a colored warband roster in the files section you can print to black and white.

Hope that helps and welcome to the wastelands.

Hey Weezbeez, our group made a 2-page QRS that really helped us when we were just learning how to play TNT.

Here is a link.

Hey guys thanks for the info, unfortunately I'm not on Facebook so I couldn't use that but I was able to find and use tokens from some of the various other games that I own so it worked out fine. And thank you Mr. Peabody for the QRS that really helped us out tremendously!!

Oh and by the way I just played my first game today and it was AWESOME!!! We were only able to play half a game due to time restrictions.... Or mainly because the girlfriends and wives wanted them home  lol  Oh well there's always next weekend but on the plus side one of the guys just downloaded the PDF when he got home and my other friend is going to order the hardback book when he gets paid so all in all I'd say it was a very successful day  :D

Until the next time we see you in the wastes enjoy

Hey guys, so we played another game yesterday and it was EPIC!!! Preservers in power armor are no joke as my poor peacekeepers found out the hard way  :o  Anyway another question came up about moral and how to resolve it??
The scenario was my leader was taken out of action and at the same time his death resulted in 25% of my warband having been killed.  The way I handled it was the rest of the team immediately took the moral test for the 25% and those in range of the leader took a second test.
Regardless of the correct answer more than half of the team failed their test and started running away. In the next turn when I went to activate the cowards fleeing from the battle I had them take another moral test to get back in the fight and this time half of them rolled a 1 and promptly ran for their lives  lol
So I'm just curious if I handled this situation correctly?

Thanks again

Hey all, we are in the middle of a game and we are trying to figure out how to resolve Burst?
Basically the question is can you move using 1 AP and then use your second AP to shoot a Burst weapon giving you 2 shots?

Thanks

You only get the Burst Bonus if you use ALL your AP to fire. So if you fail your initiative you can use your 1AP to still burst, or you can use 2 AP to burst if you pass.

In any case, roll all shots individually as a Jam can cause you to stop firing before you hit the free AP. :)

Note that a new rule will be coming for SMG and machine pistol that does allow moving and then bursting. Joey mentioned it and suggested playtesting it on the facebook group. It finally makes SMG and machine pistol very viable weapons  :)

Thanks for the reply guys. We ended up resolving it by using the RAW definition and as it was the argument came up when it wasn't either of our turn. The other player wanted to move closer to the target and shoot his machine pistol on burst. My side of the argument was that he could because how many times in movies do you see people running around shooting their automatic weapons and the other player said he couldn't because of the RAW definition so being the gentleman gamers that we are we rolled off, he won the roll and the game continued.

Ohh... Will be waiting for this to new rules to come to light as well as vehicles, motorcycles and mounted warriors so we can add some Mad Max style to our games  :D

Thanks again

I would suggest just starting to use the rule since machine pistol and smg are kind of useless without it. Here is the quote from Joey:

Quote
"There will be a new rule in the next book, but I figured everyone can start playing with it and provide feedback. Compact – This weapon is effective even on the move due to its light design. This weapon may be used to Burst fire even if the carrier used a move action. As long as they moved and shot the weapon at least once, they gain the additional AP to fire again. This ability may only be used if the model moved, no other use of AP qualifies for this bonus. This is a new weapon ability that is added to the SMG and machine pistol. It's a free upgrade"

@Illumini. Funny how it is my buddy who was on the other side of the argument just sent me this today  lol
So it's official then we will be using this new rule in all of our future games.. Though I wonder (haven't play tested the rules yet so don't quote me on this) should using this mode of burst count as Suppressive Fire?
