A Vauban fort (Part 1) - the Gate

Beautiful work.  A gate simply crying out to be stormed!  I am building a Vauban fortification and gateway for Sharp Practice, but it won't be as beautiful as your one.  Jealous...

Very nice work! The red brick details are a nice extra touch. The brickwork is from paper?

Thank you! Paper it is... I take pictures of real, old, worn, weathered and grungy walls and bricks and then I use Photoshop to create an A4 paper sheet, trying not to let any pattern repetition (sometimes I do my own photo-weathering). In this way, I have enough material ready to cover any surface. This happens also for pavements, walls, etc. In addition, I cut smaller pieces of bricks to glue them here and there to give a more 3D appearence, finishing with some random splashes of colour.
