Pulp Alley: The Foreign Agent AAR
« on: June 07, 2017, 12:57:40 AM »

Nazi spies in Bay City?
That's the rumor, at least, and it has Jack 'the Knack' Murphy, leader of the Bay City Cyclones, very concerned. What's known for sure is that a certain foreign national, said to be connected to the German consulate, has been observed around town lately holding discreet conversations with Beauregard 'Bo' Denton, the leader of the America Forever Party, Jack's arch-nemesis, and a self-professed candidate for the governor's mansion in next fall's state elections.
My word, could agents of the newly-proclaimed Third Reich be trying to meddle in an American election?   :o
Jack, who was already worried about Denton's alliance with radio and newspaper magnate G. Randolph Mullins (see 'The Big Pitch' here: http://imgur.com/a/FZHwh), wants answers, and he wants them fast. The German and his new America Forever friends have just been spotted on the strand behind the Beach Club, and Jack and the rest of the Cyclones are hurrying to the scene.
If you act fast, you can just catch up with them here: https://imgur.com/a/jL5Bt
Thanks for your interest!

Another colorful scenario Rags. Any Vice Alley bonuses earned? I am desperately trying to clean out my garage to make space for a table I can leave up. When I do, perhaps I can re-enact the devastating tsunami that hit Bay City--are the events you describe from before or after the Long Beach earthquake?

Thanks, Whom.  I look forward to playing on your garage table sometime.
To answer your questions, the Cyclones earned a new location...a dock.  As for the rest, although I use Raymond Chandler's 'Bay City' nom de plume for Santa Monica, that is mainly to honor a master.  My Bay City is entirely fictional, and exists in a time stream that often does not conform to historical reality.

Thanks, wulfgar   :)

(Almost) needless to say, I was speaking in Alternate Realityanese.

Ah.  In that case, we should do an earthquake scenario.  Use some of those pre-cracked resin buildings I bought, and have them collapse randomly during the game, creating new perilous areas.  Very cinematic.

I was thinking of a great wave coming in from one side (maybe a stretch of fabric, or just a line), making that side randomly perilous, and washing loose various mcguffins that need to be rescued, filched or sniped. It would need some play-testing though--an earthquake would probably be easier.
