I've got a small handfull of dwarves I sorta intend to use as a dwarf warband eventually (they are in line behind the vampire and beastman bands... I am a wee bit distractable).

From Hasslefree I've got this nice 3-in-one kit, as well as a pair of nuddy ones for either special conversions or naked berserkers (haven't decided). They have a bunch of nice quasi realistic historical inspired ones, so I may well get more when/if the time comes.

From Heresy, I've got this dual-wielding miner bloke. Dunno how appropriate the weaponry is, but I'm sure I can handwave it as something else rules-wise.

My dwarf wizard is from Reaper. Like Hasslefree, Reaper has a lot of other nice dwarfs that I may add to the band eventually. As a bonus the squat and stocky nature of dwarf sculpts lends them better to the Bones material than other races/subjects, so there's a savings to be had there.

For my vampires, I'm using This figure as an apprentice, and this figure as a Captain. My initial plan was to use this figure as my Vampire wizard, but on receiving it, I discovered I REALLY underestimated how... Freudian this particular mini looks in person, LOL. Still debating whether to use it, and window shopping for possible alternatives.

Some other misc. vampire candidates (for my tastes):

This guy (the one on the left in the main pic, on the right in the clickable pics) would make a fantastic feral/solo vampire for use as a monster rather than a party member:

For vampire troops/hirelings, I'm using Zombicide Back Plague zombies off ebay, intended to represent hypnotized/mind controlled thralls. I imagine that instead of hiring help, the vamps just roll up on a few of the more peripheral tents of the merc camps in the middle of the night and "disappear" some poor folks. The Zombicide figures are on the big side, but not as bad as I originally thought, or at least he zombies aren't.

For my Beastmen, pretty much any animal is fair game (as opposed the the GW "ungulates only, and horns = rank" thing, which while I understand from a visual recognition standpoint, I think is ironically pretty anti-chaotic), as is any combo of animal/human traits. I do prefer animal heads, and I tend to assume more beast = less clothes (so fair thee warned about nudity), but aside from those loose guidelines that I'm pretty open minded.

You could definitly use the miner as a crosbowmen I think. I definitly like the vampire ones, maybe for a other warband for another time.
Though that's a lot of nude beasties.

Due out imminently.  Got a sprue at Salute. Just as good as their plastic Frostgrave sets

I don't really dig their helmet design, it just doesn't do it for me. Maybe they grow on me over time.

Yeah, I'm not sure how playable that would be, TBH. I mean, I'm sure there's crowds who like me wouldn't think anything of it, but I also know it would rub a lot of others the wrong way. I'm not dick enough to thrust that on anyone who wouldn't want it.

More of a bookmark list of possibilities anyway: buying all of those would be expensive.

I guess you could call it a wild hare on my part.
History viewed from the inside is always a dark, digestive mess, far different from the easily recognizable cow viewed from afar by historians.

I use what ever the fancy takes me from my existing collection of Fantasy/RPG minis (I do have over 1000). I've loads of wizard types and usually use orcs for my Necromancer's warband. I have used Dwarves as well, both by themselves and in a mixed warband in the true D&D tradition (Humans, Dwarves, Elves and Hafling).

Mine didn't go very far (a combination of hating painting, club night burn-out and other games), but this is my original warband:

As you can see from the first pic, I had plenty to chose from, and there are a lot more models to pick from now (the aforementioned dwarfs for example).

At some point I'll sit down, work out some other warbands and group the figures together for it

Usually I pick my models from Heresy Miniatures, Haslefree and the official plastic ones, that are great.

I was considering adding some goblins for thieves, but adding some other "mercenaries" could be interesting to add character.

You're not the only one who doesn't get to the painting, I feel ya.

I'm not a fan of the Hasslefree core range, but the Red Box range looks promising.

I use board game figures. Mainly from Descent and Zombicide Black Plague. I'm crazy for my Kickstarter of Massive Darkness to arrive as it has many models I want to use.

Not covered in snow, but this is my Northern Warband - all Red Box, except for the animals.
