Lion Rampant 1st St.Albans
« on: 05 September 2017, 10:26:21 PM »
Played the 1st St. Albans by the rules of the Lion Rampant. 3 of the Yorkists retinues against 2 of the Lancastrians. I really liked the mechanic. I did not like that the death of the Lord, almost does not affect the retinue (except for one test after death). As it is not normal. For me, this should be increased the threshold of the order and reduced courage.

In general, everything was reduced to a banal shootout with losses from both sides. Somerset could not resist and rushed to the attack. He managed to drive the Lancastrians (Warwick died), but the MAA and the Somerset bilmens were shot and Somerset fled to hide in the town.
Victory went to Yorkists!

Nicely painted figures and terrain setup, I like very much the tower! Thanks for sharing!

A fine looking game there, out of interest did you retain the 3" proximity rule?

Yes. We tried to take this rule into account. The table was big, and it was basically not difficult.

Just back from shopping in St Albans - we walked past the plaque to Somerset, which is at the top of Victoria Street by the junction with Chequer Street. I can report that the traffic is a bit busier than as shown in your game.

Ideally, they were going to play on this plan. But the deficit of time affected. And besides, the main emphasis was placed on testing the rules.
