Blade Runner 2049

Blade Runner dated itself, so good on them for sticking with the movie's timeline, however realistic it is for us.

I learned long ago to ignore dates in futuristic movies/television.  I think writers have gotten savvy enough to not include them much anymore.

took my girlfriend to see it the other night.

She had only seen blade runner that morning and much preferred the sequel.this is something I've heard a fair bit from people who weren't huge fans or only recently saw the original.

I think they did an excellent job maintaining the tone and impact of the original whilst keeping the plot engaging.

Also that last fight had us both holding our breath.

I have always loved Bladerunner.

I thought the movie was good, although not great.  The visuals and performances were awesome.  I wish they had made a stand alone film without linking it up to the first film.  The world is rich with a lot of story potential.  I felt like they had to tack on a lot to complete the entire story arc.  The new Void Kampff test was creepy!

Just watched it yesterday night with my wife. We only found a cinema which started the fim at 22.30h so it was running till nearly 2am!
Yet, apart from some scenes in he middle where I felt the film was indulging too much in its great visuals, we both loved it and didn't regret a single minute.
It might have been tighter without Harrison Ford, though, and I didn't get why the Replicant rebellion was in it, and neither the part of Jared Leto.

Yet, these are minor criticisms to a truly epic movie that carefully and cleverly spun a sequel to one of sci fi's all time classics!

I enjoyed it very much apart from 8' tall fat head sitting in front of me. Why is this guy always in front of me at the flicks!

 
I thought that only happened ever to me. Had to change my seat twice when I watched Kingsmen 2 with my wife. Not only a "fat head" (<nice word, btw), but the guy was moving to the front and back and shifted his head from the left to the right...ALL THE TIME!

Thank goodness it was Sunday and there were some other seats available.
