Cool to see Moriarty continues his theme! I think they are the most recognizable entries of each round. I also think that this is Moriarty's best entry so far.
I don't have a clue what entry 2's title means but the miniatures look great. Lots of character in their faces and I like their drilled and disciplined look. The dark brown coats work well on them and contrast nicely with the desert bases.

Agreed! In fact whilst we're going all over the place with a wild variety of stuff, Moriarty is very diligently building up a fine couple of armies. The next round (themed) should be no problem, but I'm wondering what you'll do for cavemen, M  ;) ;)

Who makes the Russians? Only ever seen the AB/Eureka 15mm.

As I have said before Moriarty has proper toy soldiers but most around here are probably too young to remember

From my understanding Opalchenie, also spelt Opolchenie, are militia troops, often Russian however I have found two online sources that indicate they can also be Bulgarian.  These are 28mm Essex Miniatures from their Napoleonic range, historicaly raised in 1806 they featured prominently in the campaigns againt Napoleon.

As an alternate these particular figures reinforce my Russian Colonial units attempting to drive the hated British out of India in around 1870 - 1880, with a bit of steam tech thrown in for good measure.   :D :D :D

I thought they were from the later period so did not give any thought to ranges like Essex. May have to get a unit of those - I like the hats ;D

Thats the sort of reasoning that made me buy some WW1 German infantry yesterday - not sure how they're going to fit into any of my on-going projects, but damn they've got great hats.

Anyway, nice work by the painters above. I'm leaning towards the Russians though the "toy soldiers" are wonderful....

Diligence? Not a word I've heard much in descriptions of myself, but who am I to argue :-)

Cavemen will be problematic. Should I stick to my army plan and produce another squadron or batallion, or grub for points with a Milliput 'Kaptin Kaveman' figure and ELC dinosaur? Decisions, decisions.
