This is my first battle report. The game was only played yesterday (with Ramirez Noname) and things are already a little sketchy! Hope this makes sense!
18 encounter markers were placed on the board, a German patrol (3 squads)starts in the left hand corner of the board (actually the west side).Their objective is to find the enemy, but not all goes according to plan .............

The first encounter! Squad 1 discover zombies!

After a couple of lobbed grenades and lots of firing one zombie is dead (again!). The other shambles out of the emplacement and shot to shreds!

Squad 2 encounter another zombie except there is no photographic evidence! They took care of it.
A member of squad 3 is sent to investigate.......and finds 3 ghouls, who promptly jump over the hedge and leggit to the graveyard. They were killed by squad 2 and an mg that was positioned on the hill on the left side of the board.

Squad 1 moves on, after losing their leader (to a sniper shot) they find some more zombies! They decide to make a run for it.

Meanwhile squad 2 move up to the graveyard and catch a glimpse of something.

Squad 1 is backed up against the wall of the graveyard, they turn and make a stand.Another zombie appears (in the green shirt), squad 2 pulls back from the entrance to the graveyard and lets the mg take care of the zombie in there.Squad 2 then moves around the outside of the graveyard to take care of the extra zombie.

After a lot of firing, close combat and biting the zombies are no more, a member of squad 1 is dead (shot by his own men!). Squad 3 moves up through the graveyard and finds enemy troop location documents. Squads 1 and 2 form up, then 3 more zombies appear.

The zombies are despatched with combined fire from all 3 squads. The patrol then moves off the east side of the board.
All in all a fun game to play, if a little long. The zombies are quite difficult to kill. The German patrol activated 10 of the 18 encounters, there were a couple of encounters where nothing happened. Each member of the patrol has 10 action points to use with various actions taking a set amount of points. Most die rolls are made With a d10. The Verdammis rules uses the Dogs of War Rule set.
