A Dread & Eldritch Tome (Open At Your Own Risk!)
« on: 08 September 2009, 11:55:49 PM »

A prop for Burgundavia's mad cultists (and a slightly belated birthday gift for him).

Pastor Frank descends into utter madness and becomes violently deranged, whilst the Dread Tome defiles his pulpit with it's ancient and unspeakable presence.

The Dread Tome is putty, scuplted with sophisticated & cunning tools (a toothpick and a piece of paperclip, mostly) and painted with the ichor of innocents (Reaper paints, actually).

The lectern is scraps of basswood with several coats of brown ink & paint, and judicious antiquing with a file and knife.

Pastor Frank is actually a Copplestone gangster, but he's got the best deranged look of all my figures.

That's a Canadian penny for scale - about 18mm across.

Makes me want to prostelytize a bit.  Looks damn good...the simplicity of the treatment of the wood really stands out.  I am assuming you will be making a few rows of pews to go along with it using the same technique?
