(Kickstarter) Siege of the Smallfolk (TT Combat)
« on: 17 March 2021, 08:18:52 AM »
Another tempting Kickstarter.

At first I did not think this one would be for us but looking at it closer it seems there may be some things for us after all... now to see what my wife thinks....

The stand-out for me is the pig on a wheelbarrow!

I like the goblins and some of the tertiary models (the desert mercenaries, elves and mummies all look great), but I'm not a fan of the fat halfling archetype. I prefer Peter Jackson's LOTR style halfling.

Interesting to see that TTCombat are basically making models which have a direct translation to warhammer fantasy though. Even the unit sizes are WHFB compatible - GW Ogre Kingdoms gnoblars come in a box of 24 models on 20mm bases for example (gnoblits in TTCombat).

With any luck this'll spark more interest in WHFB! (or perhaps TrollTrader will be making their own fantasy ruleset which mimics WHFB?)

Yeah it is the desert minis from an earlier Kickstarter we missed that most caught my attention.

Nice companion piece to that Reaper pig-drawn cart full of pumpkins that came out last month.

Heh.  Duplicating the entire AoS Sons of Behemat all-giant army range in resin but cheaper and arguably more dynamic (albeit less modular) is really telling GW where to get off.
