Beach terrain

A project I’ve been meaning to do for ages; a couple of beach terrain boards for pirate games and the like. Depending on which way round you put them you either get one wide bay or two separated ones (good for games with two competing groups of pirates). The island is close enough to add a bridge if required as shown on the third and fourth shots. Quite happy with how these came out. The sea is a marine blue sponged over with green/blue, then varnished. Artists structure gel was use to add some texture and the lines of breakers.
The boards are 6mm MDF with 3mm cork for the land. I will do some plain sea boards (probably 4 2x2 boards) to allow for mainly sea games as well.

Such terrain boards give many possibilites. You could also place the "water" elements face to face, it will give you a strait between two seas, that pirate ships would have to cross to go from a sea to another; or land to land you'll get a sort of island or peninsula that enemy ships will have a tactical choice to attack from one side or a other.

Yes indeed. I'm also going to build a cliff piece that goes on top of the headland (the boards are otherwise flat for ease of storage)

Cliff module for the headland plus a jetty complete. The cliff module also works as a stand alone Kopje or similar. I’ll make a couple more jetties, too
