Another batch of Stargrave plastics up on the blog, this time with a more varied look and another take on the "making GW marines work as armored troopers" thing:

Particularly happy with the GW refugee, who will undoubtedly be much happier spending time in Stargrave than in the Grim Darkness of Corporate Marketing.

More photos and commentary at the link.

Quite liking these plastics so far.  Only 26 more to go before I have to think about buying more.  :)

Nice.  Love the Galan lookalike especially.

That head swap on the GW figure looks really good, way better than the original, in my opinion. The colour scheme on all three looks great, too.

Shall I admit I've never stuck a Ghar battlesuit together the way they're intended to be built?  Although you always get at least a half dozen spare heads per box anyway.

Pretty nice, good to see a use for those annoying figures of the grimdark marketing future.

To be fair, GW does offer a few things that are of use for actual scifi gaming without needing much conversion work at all.  Tau, Kroot, Tyranids, most of the Necromunda range, a fair number of the Eldar.  Even some of the Dark Eldar and Chaos stuff work for generic sadistic space pirate bad guys.  Some of it's not even overpriced - Necromunda basic figs are about $4 a pop, which isn't steep compared to most of the market, although it doesn't compare well to Stargrave plastics or home-printed figs.  And of course the sheer volume of production and player turnover makes finding stupid bargains for used stuff online a breeze.

Fine works, sir, fine works indeed.

I’ve used Ghar heads on Palanite Enforcers myself, your’s is a great end result!
