Hello everyone

Long time commenter but never actually shared pictures of my own hobby. Finally going to do it, finally going to cast my hobby bottle into the internet sea :P :P

I am currently working on clearing my decks of older projects so I can start playing with new shinies (and so I can start getting into some Stargrave with my friend Scarper). The snag being my older projects are somewhat sizable grim dark armies!

I have recently finished a squadron of 4 Sentinels for my rag tag scumbag Guard, the Flexberg 17th Infantry. A combo of new and evil bay rescues, let's just say I am very relieved to see the finished results!!

Thank you so much guys, really pleased you like them!

One of my other vices is sci fi starships. Here are two of my converted grand cruisers for Battlefleet Gothic. I copied an idea from t’internet and they are some of my favourites.

Heavy cruisers Mythic and Ajax:

Love the sentinels, Ragsta! Would never have guessed they were refurbs if I hadn't already known. Particular highlight is the plasmaglow on the one at the back - that's a nice OSL effect.

They look great as a pack. Worth the burnout!

Thank you, Akula! Praise from the praiseworthy. I do love my BFG stuff, there's something about the flexibility of paint jobs and kitbashes that really appeals to me.

Really glad you like the lighting, I kept dithering about thhat but glad I stuck with it! I am very pleased with them now, the horror of their WIPness has faded into my subconscious :P

I like to paint up weird and wonderful aliens and monsters as palette cleansers , and I just so happen to have one here!

The miniature came from Pig Iron Miniatures, though for some reason I can't find them on the store right now. They have a strong resemblance to the Skull Crawlers from King Kong's Skull Island. I really enjoyed finishing this beast - it's been lurking in my pile of potential for quite some time...

Creepers. Crawlers. Snakeheads. They're one of the many bogey men out on fringe space. Big, fast and vicious, Creepers can grow to the size of an armoured walker yet possess an unnerving capacity for stealth and ambush. Their long limbs are reminiscent of stick insects or spiders but with the deadly sweeping embrace of a mantis. Colourations are varied and expansive...

He looks really intimidating! It's such a dynamic, threatening pose, too. One of my favourites in person. I like the splash of 'danger' red on the spike.

I think a lot of hasslefree stuff hasn't been updated once it's sold out lately - a lot of minis I've thought about buying in the past have vanished.

Pig Iron Miniatures, mate, not hasslefree :) But I know what you mean, and thank you!

I have recently found myself playing actual games! :O After what has been genuinely TWO decades I’ve found myself playing games of 10th edition 40K with some guys from work, and I’ve actually had fun!? It has a decent flow but yeah, it still takes hours even using 500pts. I would like to try Grim Dark Future next :)

My Flexberg 17th Infantry linked up with a force of Vostroyans on patrol, only to run into a combined force of Orks and the ever mercurial Dark Angels. Despite some spirited fighting we found ourselves caught in a pincer of frothing green loonies, and enacting a Custer’s Last Stand just before we lost the will to live from exhaustion  ;D ;D

They look great all arrayed out like that! Shoulda got some some shots from the front too though  ;D

I like the way you've based your heavy weapon teams - very smart. Did you do that before the new rules, or was that a 10e change?

Thanks fella. You get better pictures when I get some time for proper group shots! Bloomin whippersnapper…

I based up the weapon teams this way cos I wanted to make micro dioramas out of them, so every team has some crates, sandbags/ barricades and some appropriate posing. I never thought I’d be playing 40K again - the dios were just meant to be a fun part of my collection! Even more fun now I guess  ::)

Glad you like them, they came out remarkably well. Guaranteed as soon as I try to take pics of my grouped projects they will look like they’ve been dunked in cake and sprayed with fog    :`

I played my first game of Stargrave with my good friend Scarper and really enjoyed it!  Plenty to keep us both engaged and interested, and a joy playing in actual painted terrain (which Scarper should post pictures of in his thread :D :D ).

Captain ‘Treg’ Sutter and the crew of the Kerry Denk made their way into the outskirts of an abandoned settlement looking for easy pickings, only to run into unknowns with a similar agenda. A hasty data hack by Sutter revealed the only other vessel in the vicinity was some pathetic rust bucket called the Fisher King.

Both sides were wary of engaging initially but this did not last. Trooper Kark and the potentially mislabelled bot M1ND-R ultimately claimed several takedowns after an abortive attempt at close combat by the self proclaimed expert Cap’n Treg and his two cronies saw them assertively repulsed by a lone Fisher King crewer!!

I look forward to the next game - all was done and dusted within 2.5 hours including set up and post game.
