15mm Italians 1812

Here are the 4 battalions of 3rd Regiment of Line(I think), plus skirmish bases.

The figures were bought from Stonewall Figures, a nice one man band company and were part of their painted battalion packs.  I have done a quick repaint on the figures.

While they may not be the best sculpts in the world I do love the mass affect.

Good to see Italians! Yours are better painted than mine

Haven't heard of Stonewall figures but they look more than ok to me, wee bit old fashioned maybe, but they remind me of battle honours

The sculpts are not the best and do require some clean up, even when they come pre painted, but they do the job for me.  I quite like them and have hundreds of them.

I have nearly the whole Italian contingent in the Grande Armee of 1812, I just need to add the Light regiments and 2 battalion of the Dalmatian regiment.

It's easy to be a 'one-man band company' when you steal the copyright and sculpting of others.

I've read some of the posts on TMP

No idea what contract XAN had with who and why it went south but that case does not mention Stonewall?

Xan was the sculptor for Fantassin in Spain. The moulds etc were sold without his consent, and then passed through a number of other legal entities to muddy the water. Stonewall were involved in producing the figures in the UK. You might claim that Stonewall had no knowledge but as he has previous "form" - with AB, FAA etc - and is still selling battalions of figures produced from the moulds, I think that you can say the owner is a bit of a shit.

As I say I haven't seen the contract that Xan and Fantassin signed but it is rare for the sculptor to keep the rights for the commissions they make and it would have to be in said contract.

Whether he gave consent or not would be immaterial unless it was in the contract

The fact Stonewall continues to produce these minis suggests any legal action wasn't pursued over here

I can't comment on your 'previous form' statement as I have no knowledge of that at all

I think Italians are definitely underrepresented on most gaming tables.

Excellent looking troops. I'm building Italian troops as well, but in 28mm.
