Hello fellow adventurers,
I've recently visited Korea and was bitten by a local Hobby Bug (Aedes Hobbycanus) when I saw this at a museum:

Using finely tuned ocular-pollical calculations I decided this house could fit with 28mm miniatures:

Not looking very closely at it, I assumed this would mostly be MDF and put it in my luggage. Imagine my surprise when I later saw the walls were just printed paper. So naturally I had to upgrade it a little:
(Thank you, Starbucks coffee stirrers!)
After applying some paint, I realized I also didn't like the look of the roof. So after some deliberation with an expert friend of mine I decided on a different approach, which had the house look like this for a minute:

And soon after like this:

Which is basically where I called it. (Gave the stones on the edge a bit of a wash so they wouldn't be
that grey, but I doubt anybody needs a picture of that.)
What you're seeing is a 초가집 (Choga house) a type of traditional thatched house common in the south of Korea during the time of the invasions.
(This is what I was going for btw:)

I have another building I'm currently working on, which is a 기와집 (Giwa house) a tile-roofed house:

More of that later. The general idea here is to have some terrain and a few Koreans and Japanese miniature men to play with. Towards this I've pledged to the Zenit Kickstarter for Joseon that ran recently, and I'm probably gonna pick up some Ashigaru and a Samurai at the LGS soon.
What I haven't done is deciding on a ruleset to use. I'm looking to have very small games, of mostly guerilla actions (maybe set in a campaign). Do you guys have any suggestions what might fit the bill?
