Help me out, if you can....

When I first saw this fantastic sculpt, it reminded me intensely of what I thought at the time was an Albrecht Durer engraving.  However, I've since failed to locate the source and I'm in doubt as to whether it indeed reminds me of a painting or perhaps a sculpture or maybe even another mini, (I thought about Gamezone's fuedal knights but no joy.)

Any ideas???

It's fairly similar to an old Warmachine sculpt, Captain Kraye.

Reminds me a bit of Frazetta's famous Death Dealer painting?

Definitely has some Death Dealer vibes.

Yeah, I can see the deathdealer link, but I think the connection has more to do with the combined posture of the horse and rider, with the rider sitting back in the saddle as the horse goes down a slope.

To my mind it's got more to do with the Warmahordes sculpt of Captain Kayne.

I don't know, I'm pretty sure I've seen an old masters type painting in a very similar pose, but it could just be the onset of senile dementia.

I’m pretty sure you are right, hubbabubba, that there is a renaissance painting with a very similar pose. That said, I also can’t remember who painted it, or find an image of it…. Maybe that forgetfulness thing is contagious!

There's 'Don Quixote with the Devil', by Baierl, who based it on Albrecht's painting.

It could well be that or maybe it's a mish mash of various sources that's  kidding me in to thinking there existed a particular painting.
