Interlock/Fuzion what System shall I use?

OK call me weird, but I have thought about converting the CoC Mountains of Madness campaign into a Hard-SciFi mecha/military RPG with aliens and horror elements ;D

But I'm still wondering what rules system to use. I quite like the Mekton Z approach to building Charakters, but I also like the ideas of Perks and Talents from the Fuzion System. But I'm pretty sure to find a solution to this by simply mixing the systems. My major issue is the system I'll use to represent the mecha/vehicles-hardware. I'm torn between CP2020 Maximum Metal and Mekton Z MTS in Roadstriker scale. I think the first one ist a better simulation and the later one better adjustable to wargaming. But I don't have any experience in using either of both systems in a game without hexes and mixing tanks with PA or mechas.

Then again I still have some time untill I've finished collecting and painting all those tanks, mechas and aliens.
