Atomic Cafe 1957 Off to the Printer!
« on: 03 November 2009, 02:34:09 PM »
Phew!

I have finally finished getting the layout done and Atomic Cafe 1957 is now off to be printed. Lon will have a few pre-release copies available at Fall In for $20. The bulk will be ready in about 2 weeks from Brigade Games.

I am going to be putting up some free download bits (like unit and vehicle sheets) today over on the Brigade Games forum. So, I hope everyone interested in some post-apocalyptic fun will stop by, download the sheets and start playing.

Also, if you are going to be at Fall In, be sure to hop into Joey McGuire's AC57 game. He'll be set up right next to the Brigade booth on Saturday.

And now, for something completely different...

School crossing guards for an atomic world.

After briefly reviewing the rules last night, I can say several people will be happy.  Especially Grimm.  Also, the minis shown in the book are awesome and really capture the feel of the 1950's B-movie.

Hmmm. I'll definitely be looking at the rules at Fall in. Have definite plans to pick up some of the miniatures.

I'm looking forward to this.  Any idea on how many miniatures each person would need for a game?

Just whipped out my trusty calculator.

A 400 point game could consist of 4 squads of 4 models plus 2 leaders (I used the Michigan State Bowling League and Puoghkeepsie Pink Pummelers as my test units). So that's 18 models for a small game. If you added a car, that would bring the total to about 500 points.

This would give you a decent size force. The game plays very fast with models dying quickly. Less than this number and the game might be over too quickly.

Thanks for the info.  I've been enjoying painting the figures and look forward to playing the game.
