Hail Ceaser 2

Any devotees to bring some light into my darkness, please?
If you had to sell this ruleset to a complete nobhead (that'll be me then!) how would you do it?

Quick play, easy to learn and copes well with very big battles. Suited for one v one games or multi player.
Lots of armylists available to support most peoples choice of army. The campaign books are also very good.
Another plus is it only uses d6, no need to buy fancy dice or cards etc...
Best of all, it is fun!

What Bodvoc said!  HC has been my go to game since the end of WAB.  Great club and convention game.

The command system puts some people off*.  It can be disappointing to have a third of your army refuse to move for the first turns of the game.  I prefer to think of it as the fog of war.  And those late units often arrive fresh at the end of the game to have a major impact.

*HC uses a command system for unit movement.  Roll 2D6 equal or under the leader's leadership which is typically 8.  Fail the roll, and the whole division of 4-6 units does not move for the turn.

Thanks for that chaps, really appreciate you taking the time. I reckon it's about time Arrichilles and his men went on the march again!

It seems, along with ADLG to a lesser extent, to be the default Ancients set for an FB group I'm in of gamers I'm in who all play much more often than me (so I trust their judgement more than mine)

The basing isn't a headache either, many players I know just use 3 (or 6 in two ranks) DBM size 60mm bases per regular sized unit.
