Last week, I ran six games of my Mean Streets gang warfare rules at Origins Game Fair in Columbus, Ohio. I had hundreds of people walk by my table and got lots of praise and kind words for it. When folks lingered, I asked them if they'd seen the movie, "The Warriors," and nearly all responded yes. They seemed very intrigued by a rules set inspired by the movie and I filled nearly all six of my games slots over the six times I ran it.

My players were amazing, and kept me energized and entertained. Setting the game up on Wednesday, then running it twice each on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, can make for a long week. However, the enthusiasm of the players and the way they through themselves in their gang's role and mission, rejuvenated me each game.

In the scenario (which I know I've posted about before), one of the gangs, the Eastmoor Kings, needs to cross the length of the table and reach the bus stop atop the bridge to get home. They've been lured to a gang parley, which never occurred, and are now stuck crossing hostile turf in an attempt to get home. Sound familiar? Yep, it's supposed to! My nod to the 45th anniversary of the movie's release.

The outcomes were different every time. Sometimes the Warriors made it the bridge, sometimes they didn't. For a more blow-by-blow AAR, please check out my Lead Legionaries post: http://leadlegionaries.blogspot.com/2024/06/downtown-at-origins-streets-were-mean.html

There are 27 photos on the report, so check it out! Lots of rumbling goodness there...!
