15mm Indian Wars 1400s-1900s
« on: 23 June 2024, 09:06:31 PM »
Hello,

I picked up a set of 200 15mm US Cavalry and Indian Warriors at Sand Wars Con. I would like to expand little by little doing battles spanning the Spanish period, Mexican period, and U.S. Indian Wars. The figures look like Old Glory 15s but am not 100% sure what manufacturer I already have.

I wanted to ask if anyone knows of what miniature lines are out there for the various forces I want to build.

Thanks!

You've come to the right LAF member for information.  I have a thread from a year or two back with more information if you can find it.  However, there are three main ranges to look into:

Old Glory 25s Bluemoon range - probably the best range for variety of poses and LOTS of mounted figures to go with the dismounted figures (find Deano's thread on painting Old West, somewhere in that thread he has painted samples of a lot of the range).  These are larger 15 mm figures, some might call them 18 mm.

Peter Pig has a very diverse range but they are small figures and would not mix great with the above - but they have stuff no one else does.

Freikorps (QRF) Yellow Ribbon Range is also a good place to peruse.  These would be middle sized.

Some also rans would be Minifigs.   And Hovels, even smaller than Peter Pig.  CP models have some very nice figures that would work with Old Glory a little better than Peter Pig.

Again, find my old thread if you can, lots more information.

Let us know if you need more information.

Thanks FifteensAway for the info. I searched the LAF but came back with 28mm results. I will try again to do a search for your post and Deano's thread on Old West.

Here is my 15 mm listing link: https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=134445.msg1795872#msg1795872

And here is the link to Deano's painting thread: https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=96500.0

I think the Bluemon stuff starts around page 24.
