What companies abandoned Arnold's march on Quebec?
« on: 11 October 2024, 02:25:39 PM »
Any one know the answer to this question? Any answers or a list of the companies in the expedition are welcomed.
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

According to Kenneth Roberts' Arundel (hope his research was good), Colonel Enos turned back with the companies of Williams, McCobb, Scott, Hyde and Peters (some 450 strong). Of most interest to me is McCobb's company, since I recently found a number of gents from Georgetown were in his company. Georgetown Maine is where my wife and I spend much time when not in NYC. The odds of our local gents having gone as far as Quebec are slight.
