Gladiators & other ancient minis
« on: 11 January 2023, 10:58:51 AM »
Hi there !

I'm settling here to post my Antiquity stuff. For now more are metal and grey plastic but I managed to paint all my gladiators through a contest with a friend.

Those are from Crusader Miniatures. I used a lot of contrast paint : Guilliman,Darkoath flesh, apothicary white, wyldwood and Leather brown from Army Painter. For the rest I used various colours from various brand but I used only "Tones" from Army Painter to shade them.

Not a huge painting level but I'm happy with how it looks at the end, just like how I wanted them : simple and efficient, more epic than realistic.

That's all for now, I need to get back to futuristic stuff but I hope I'll get time to paint Gangs of Rome, Mortal Gods and SQPR stuff soon enough.

They look good - that set of models does seem to be the favourite set of gladiators!

I do like the arena, looks very rugged, so I’m thinking in a more far flung corner of the Empire, not in Rome.

Nice!

Always great to see Crusader Gladiators in action and getting painted.

I've painted some ancient !

A celtic woman with her child from Warlord Games and a big resin objective with tons of loot. This is a piece I've been offered in a french tournament of Saga. The guys have sculpted it themselves and offered one to every contestant. It has waited for too long before being painted but... there it is.

I painted it along an ancient mini but it will befinitely be used in othe dark age and medieval games. Hope you like it.

Nice job on the terrain piece.  I find pieces like that the hardest to paint.  A lot of little details can be annoying as heck on a terrain piece.
