Hi all,
Long time since I posted on this thread! It's been a strange year, with hobby time taken by a series of family illnesses, some requested drawings to do, and then prepping close to 100 minis for various sci fi, fantasy and historical projects.
Anyway, I bought Hasslefree's 'Abercrombie' about six years ago, thinking it would make a novel VIP for sci fi scenarios. Recent events reminded me and bumped it to top of the painting queue as a quick break from other projects.
This one really challenged me, trying to paint such a finely detailed sculpt, and I've done the sculptor no justice. The combination of the Hasslefree scale, my aging eyes, and painting when already exhausted in the evening made it a struggle in all honesty.
The sci fi furniture is Micro Art Studio's very nice data tower, and some other items by Terrain Crate. I won't go into another rant about the Terrain Crate stuff, but in summary: if I'm paying that price for terrain I don't expect to have to mess about trying (with limited success) to heat and reshape it into a believable object.
I really just coloured these in with a contrast paint, but did enjoy trying 'The Matrix' style text on some of the screens.
Cheers,
Raedwald
