Lovely painting!  :)

I’m pretty sure the Modern History channel on youtube has a video about wearing plate armour where the presenter talks briefly about paint being found on late medieval armour beyond just helmets.

I paint some of the livery colours on the helmets and sometimes even the back and breast.

I’m not expert, and am not trying to be, so I don’t mind some conjecture when painting my toy soldiers  ;)

Hopping back to the painted helmets question, it was a fairly popular thing throughout the medieval period — easier rust-proofing than always cleaning and polishing.

Thank you. The Kern are all Perry miniatures (as are all the models shown above except the King)
