Hi,
@ Stavros "Could you tell me which colours you used to paint your trunk as it looks brilliant"
That one caught me on the hop - I normally grap the nearest "tree" liike colour thats on the bench at the time, but I'll make a stab at it.
All my scenery, including tree stumps are undercoated with a cheap, quick drying paint from Wilkinsons, colour "Conker". For detail, the first dry brush coat is either VMC 886 Green/Grey or VMC 879 Green/Brown. both give a good base to work up. Mid-tone dry brush VMC 988 Khaki and highlight with a gentle dry brush of VMC Iraqi Sand.
To add a bit extra I also do a light and patchy stipple of VMC 888 Olive Grey to one side of the trunk and a very smal amount of VMC 929 Light Brown/ GW Orange mix (50/50) to the other, just to give the impression of lichen etc.
I also use VMC Flat Brown as a light stipple to give variation on the different scenery pieces.
It also helped photographing the bases outside in very bright sunlight.
Hope this helps.
