It's the red eyes that set them apart.
« on: 03 March 2010, 12:02:01 PM »
'It's the red eyes that set them apart from humanity, that and their stiff, calculated and predatory gait! these automata have a purpose that will ultimately lead to darkness! I will have no more to do with them'.
An Army chaplain commenting on the unveiling of the British Empires latest wonder weapon.

Steam Automatons from Ironclad Miniatures. Initially I was going to attempt painting NMM. Lack of reference (which I have now found) and my own poor skills have not let me down too badly. The bases need finishing and paint needs touching up but they are 'done'.

I shall be ordering some more of these fellows which I shall attempt a better paint job on. I am also on the look out for engineer types to keep these fellows going in battle!

Awesome! I love these models.

I like the quote. Is it from anywhere in particular?

Lovely work!  I really like the colour - it would be ideal for larger British contraptions.

Do you fight many battles on the leather suite? I know it's VSF and all that, but the terrain is a little implausible  ;)

Please post more pics of your stuff!

Thanks.

the suite is in the best location for catching natural light, making a convenient place to put mini whilst I take photographs. I really want a green leather chair with all those brass studs to look the part!

Very nice indeed. Lovely paintjob on some great figures - I'm really starting to love Ironclad. If that's your first attempt at NMM then I think the nearest 8 LAFers should pile round to yours and all get drinks in for you, it's very good indeed.

And I love your little 'script' at the beginning, that's cool and sinister. Do you have an Army Chaplain to be horrified by them? More pics of VSF stuff please!
