AH Panzer Zug II / Polish "Smialy" Armoured Train

This is a recent addition to my KuK army, Panzer Zug II which can also be used as the Polish armoured train "Smialy" (Bold) from the Russo-Polish War 1919-1920. I've made a couple of small changes to the original HLBS model:
-added rifle loopholes to the Gun car and Machine gun car
-HMGs added to the loopholes (model doesn't have any to start with)
-additional storage for fuel on the engine (certainly Smialy had this not sure about it was PZII)
-added to Company B flat cars for control cars at the front and rear of the train

It had its first outing at the scarab Games day last month but I finally managed to get some semi decent photos of it today

Mark Copplestone casts up a few every so often and puts them up for sale. I've tried on several occasions to get them, with no luck, so I'm not sure they're even readily available after the announcement has been made.

Indeed, that's what the HLBS train is missing - the tender

Might I suggest an armoured tender to go with the engine?
a few spare wheels from a model railway supplier and Your scratchbuilding talent should do the trick

the Company B flat cars needed a bit of modification to bring them to the same height as the HLBS ones. 

do you have a photo of an armoured tender for this train, I havent seen any in the photos I have of it?

which makes me think - The engine appears to be a  tank Loco...
Which would make a tender unnecessary
However the fact that the polish included additional space for wood implies that the range might have been a bit limited....
later armoured trains always have tender engines

anyway, this seems to be "Smialy" with a tank Loco


and maybe here the car behind the assault car could be a tender?


Anyway, whether You want to add a tender or not, tenders are rather universal  and basically a big square water tank with a small box for coal/wood on top, especially when armoured
