18th Century Sharp Practice AAR

Just a little test game of Sharp Practice, in preparation for an upcoming campaign set in a fictitious 18th century India. The report is written by one of the players, Dave, as a letter to his character's mother. The game was lighthearted and very funny. SP is proving to be an enjoyable rule set, especially with a bit of role playing thrown in.

Well done! I love the rules myself. You can have a nice light-hearted romp or add in the extra rules and have a "proper" game. I prefer the romps myself and this looks like it was a good'un!

Great report, sounds like it was fun. The Sharp Practice rules seem to get a good write-up in general, don't they?

Not really my period, but it's a nice-looking battle and the write-up is very good. I've been tempted by Sharpe Practice for a while, so I might have to get the PDF version.

I agree with Nick, those buildings are lovely especially the thatched roofs.

That's why its a "test" game - so all the unpainted miniatures/bases can be excused - well that's my excuse anyway! 

I recently discovered how I want the bases done, and so will endeavor to finish them ASAP - bases make such a huge difference to the look of a mini.

SP is a great rule set, but the players have to really take on the role of the Big Men and get into character. Coming from a RP background it is pretty natural with my group. Dave the guy that wrote the letter/AAR loved this kind of thing and has in the past kept countless RP game diaries, which are so fun to look back on.
