SM81 Italian bomber for Abyssinia
« on: 28 June 2010, 08:46:25 PM »
Following building an IMAM Ro37bis scout plane for my Ethiopian wargames set-up last year, I have added a SM81 bomber to the collection.  Pictures are here, should you be interested!

Most excellent. That "Ice Cream Van" paint scheme is just lovely.

That's gorgeous. I was tempted to buy one of those not long ago, that little photo essay might just be the tipping point.

Lovely work James on the SM81.

Are the stripes on the wings decals?

Cheers,

Helen

Truly a fine work of art !

Who makes the kit, and in what scale, please ??

(Edit:  OOf, just found this in the writeup - - "The plane itself is a 1/72 Italeri model" )

Thanks Helen!  The stripes are done with masking tape and painted - the kit provides a very good plan elevation, which is fairly easy to scan and enlarge to the correct size to make a template.
