Wonderfully painted miniatures. 20 mm? I am really amazed, because they look so much better than the ones I painted 2 years ago... Wonderful!

I'm not sure that's strictly true... Hugo Boss AG was one of several companies who supplied uniforms to the party etc, but the uniforms themselves were designed 'in-house' as it were. The man himself died in 1948, so the company may have designed the modern uniform, but not Herr Boss.

I believe this to be true, especially as he would have ensured black and brown were not used together and that he would have suggested a two-shade grey ensemble with a slightly 'washed-out' look instead of mustard brown and tan, which is so passe.

Ahh, the Handschar. A group so wickedly vile and disgustingly evil that the rest of the SS considered them to be "excessive."

not really, unreliable i think was the general opinion of the Handschar by the SS (who mutinied while training in france!) ... the  bosnian/croat muslims hated the serbian/communist partizans, so no real change from then until the various yugoslav civil wars at the end of last century...

if you want to talk about excessive units of the SS, you should look towards Kaminski and Dirlwanger who were considered much more "excessive" by the higher-ups!

i'm not making moral judgements, i just paint toy soldiers

@ former user- dark fez's? I believe you are refering to the maroon/dark red "parade wear"
fez's often seen in parade pictures of handschar troops, the field grey version was worn in the field, even by german members of the division!
