Matchlock/Blue Moon FIW comparison
« on: August 28, 2010, 05:07:12 PM »
To judge how the Matchlock and Bluemoon ranges compared I ordered a few packs from Caliver Books.
They were: FI17 British marching in campaign dress, FI21 Native command and FIC2 Rangers in Bonnets.

The figure on the left is from the Native command pack. As you can see they are slightly smaller in height and stature but usable.

The fig on the right is from the rangers in bonnets pack. Again slightly smaller but usable. The sculpting is quite reasonable.

The fig on the left is from FI17. Smaller than the other figs and seems to be slightly more basically sculpted.

The other figs in the Native command pack. God knows what the guy on the left is doing.
I should say that the Caliver website was very easy to use. With good comunications from them when the order was placed. The order took less than a week to come and was really well packed. I kicked myself afterwards that I didn't order any of the minifigs figures.

Truthfully, not the loveliest figures for this period that I have ever seen (either of them)...  :-I

I was wondering the same thing when I first got him out of my pack... I think he is wearing a type of hat some warriors wore and may have just finished scalping hapless colonial or European.

There some information on this thread regarding the type of headwear this figure may be wearing:
