Well I finally got around to building Italeri's monstrous great church. Replaced the roof ( well roofed over it actually) using plastic pantiles and a couple of cut up plastic drinking straws to run along the top. I'm not quite satisfied with the job I did but it will have to do.
Painting the damn thing has been quite a task, albeit a fun one. The thing is so big, I decided that to base coat it, I would use a 3 " house painting brush It was the only way covering it was going to get done. I think that's a first for me, painting a model building with a real paintbrush.,, Terrain yes, building no.
Drybrushing it was a really long drawn out affair and then I had the task of painting individual tiles, as I prefer my roofs to have a variegated look, which is how they tend to look in real life. Do you know how hard it is to make a genuinely random pattern of colours. About Half to 3/4 way there now. Will post some pics as IIRC someone wanted to see how it scales up against 28mm figures.
