New kid on the block
« on: 29 August 2010, 10:44:16 PM »
Greetings, esteemed fellow adventurers

Been lurking around these premises for a while, so I figured I might as well join the fray. So far, I've mostly been posting nonsense on the Steve Dean forum and, to a lesser extent, WD 3 and the TAG renaissance boards. Ergo, I suppose it was high time to spread the contagion to this august corner of the interweb.

As Mike Scott of the Waterboys would sing, it's been a long way to the light...  lol

I used to love the Waterboys (in their Fisherman's Blues period)

Then I suggest you try and get hold of The Live Adventures of the Waterboys, a 1986 live CD which captured the band just before the protracted Fisherman's Blues studio sessions. This is mind-blowing stuff and you can actually hear the FB sound falling into place as the band is playing on the stage. For obscure contractual reasons, the record was never authorised by the band and Mike Scott saw to it that the CD was not marketed in the UK, but you can order second-hand copies from U.S online retailers such as amazon.com (which is where I got mine).

Right, back on track now, and I'll leave the subject at rest lest I turn this august board into the Vinyl Adventure Forum...  :D
