Questions about I Ain't Been Shot Mum!
« on: 07 September 2010, 12:37:26 AM »
I’ve been searching for a set of rules for my World War 2 pacific project and IABSM seems like the one I will use but I have a few questions:
1. Would I be able to use 20mm miniatures for the rules?
2. Does it utilise multi basing or single basing or does it not matter.
3. How many figures would I need for both sides in an average game?
4. Would it be possible to adapt it to early post war conflicts such as the first indo china war?
Thanks

1. yes.
2. basing is entirely up to you. You're moving sections and fireteams and weapons teams, but how they're based doesn't matter. Single basing makes it easier to remove casualties, but multi-bases can be used with some method of tracking casualties. My armies are based in a rather FoW-ish manner, but some players use single figures.
3. 2 platoons plus a few supports is a good start. Most games are about a company per side. (so approx. 60-120 figures)
4. Sure. The weapons are pretty much the same.

I can only second the second poster.

I've played loads of IABSM and it's really easy to adapt.
