Incidentally, I found some little spiders in clear, rubber balls, that will be the basis of mine.  I am thinking of developing something that might be a Doctor-Whoish monster, at least in style.  Maybe a bit like Arcturus from Curse of Peladon.

A clear rubber ball might look a bit like a force-field.....

I think somebody I follow on Youtube uses "for sale" signs from walmart as a cheap alternative to plasticard, perhaps other alternatives can be found as well? I know no wargaming wiring should be required as cheap alternatives are abound for sure!

Update:

The Prof said no, as there is already a contest running, but told me to ask at the beginning of the year.

So, I am going forward with my own dollar store aliens, and will start a new thread for them.

I have good intentions at least of making my own - I'll start a thread when I figure it out.

So what shall we say - get stuff from the dollar store or other discount stores, Wal-mart or the like...how about grocery stores?  Craft stores I might disallow, and a specialized hardware store like Home Depot makes it just too easy.

And the only "specialty gamer supplies" allowed are superglue, plasticard, and as little putty as possible?

Maybe we should expand the definition of the entries to say "non-Gaming shop aliens".  That would probably work, since I'm sure we'd all be very interested in seeing some of the things you and others have suggested, like the feed and produce store aliens, etc.

I think this thread belongs in Sci Fi so I'll move it.
