Beautiful paintjob and I'm anxious to see the rest. I don't care much for the bases but if it works for you who am I to argue 8) I can't seem to find the picture of the Tallarn Dog you mentioned, any pointers (page numer perhaps)?

Oh, I do love the colour scheme, you're right about these models, they really looked like astronauts with guns and armour, much more 'space-like' than the current models, I collected a squad of those a while ago to use as veterans, haven't painted them yet though.

Lovely work mate, wish I still had the Captain and Death Squad Chainsword marine, oh well :( I've got the Ltd edition PA marine somewhere so when I finds it I may well strip it and follow your inspiration.

Theres a couple of those on ebay at the moment- going for around six dollars a peice, which is pretty reasonable!

RE: Dog soldiers... there is a line drawing of the face in the picture that includes an Ambul, Necron and some other aliens that never made the cut.  Its in the original 40k rogue trader book in the aliens section.

Been a while since I updated this.  I was looking around the room for something to blog and realised I had not posted progress pics on this one for ages.

Very nice work. If you're still considering pouring your own starship floor sections, you might want to consider The Spaceship X stuff from Creative Gamescapes.

I like the slots for bulkheads at the end of each section. Very nifty.

Creative Gamescapes etc...

Which are quite pricey if you want to build anything of a reasonable size, plus aren't they 3/4 height walls?

Some superb work there, Dave. Love the scenic bases too. It's great to see some of the old-style figures again, especially given such a good paint job. Makes me get very nostalgic for the good 'ol days.

My only slight criticism is that it all smells a bit too "Stardred" for my liking. Shouldn't you be concentrating on a different project? hint... hint...  ;)

...and what fresh new hell is this?
