Being something of a gadget enthusiast and reading just the other week about someone's scratchbuilt spin casting equipment makes me wonder what other secret and arcane tools of the trade the good people of this forum have in their saturnine laboratories.

Myself, I wield a fantastic #0000 paint brush which I bought from Micro Mark and which just will not give in. I also swear by my "micro forge" with which I have made quite a few 28mm spears and swords out of brass.

Mordenkeinen's Convenient Rinse Well--This small, flat rinse well and water bottle enable the painter to clean his brushes thoroughly in nearly any location. Unfortunately, they do not improve his painting ability. Usually found in dragon hoards or in the Micro-Mark catalog.

My Stabilo point 88- fantastic for doing the pupils in eyes (I'm a lot better with a pen than a paintbrush).

Aside from that probably superglue and bits of plastic and childrens toys. You can make some cool stuff out of junk.
