More Woodbine Indians
« on: November 21, 2010, 06:25:21 PM »
Just noticed 'em on the Beast's site. Bombers, NCOs and Hotchkiss MGs (Coming soon):

Link

Indian troops always seem to get the short end of the stick when it comes to these kind of figures. They are the sort of thing that always get left unfinished in most ranges. The Hotchkiss gunners look perhaps a tad stiff of pose and awkward to me (might be okay, hard to tell on those little pics), but the rest look good. Choice of head (two types) like the rank and file were, by the looks of things.

Veering wildly from our WWI remit here, but there seems to be a "Human Nature/Family of Blood" series of packs on there too including some public school cadet types with Lee Enfields, which will please the VBCW crowd I suspect.

A scandalous omission and a wasted opportunity, if I may judge from that pic.

Quite interesting, the rest! I recently tried to watch "The Drum" (and couldn't stand the drivel plot after 20 minutes, so switched off), and cannot decide if a small Indian Army force for T&T would be quite pukka or another diversion which I really don't need at the time being...

But they are very versatile, Chris. Great War Western Front, Salonika, East Africa, Palestine and Mesopotamia. Back of Beyond, Somaliland Mad Mullah hijinks, Sanusi revolt, Third Afghan War, not to mention NWF. You'd almost be mad not to get at least one or other manufacturer's variation of the type, given how many uses there are for them.

Plus, and this is the clincher...

...another entirely gratuitous picture of Freema Agyeman dressed in her maid outfit.   :)

I'm not sure any photograph of young Ms Agyeman can ever be really gratuitous. More please!

Now if they are going to do armed public schoolboys, I want a Malcolm McDowell in flying jacket with a Bren gun and a  sten armed Christine Noonan.

I used to see Freema Agyeman a lot in Sainsbury's after she'd had her baby.

We never discussed the Indian army though.  ;)
Well I've lead an evil life, so they say, but I'll outrun the Devil on judgement day.
