Dirtside houserule, any sugestions?
« on: 05 January 2011, 07:47:29 PM »
I am working on and planning a few forces for Dirtside, and I am planning to use these weapons for a infantry heavy army;

Now I have been juggling around some rule options, first of I don't think they will do as vehicles, even immobile ones.
Now the artillery rules allow for pieces to be towed, they only cost as much as the weapons and are considered armor 0 for shooting. The size is the same as the gun -1. Now I was wondering if this would work for those guns as well, simply paying the cost of the weapon. From my rather limited knowledge that would seem to be pretty much what this sort of gun would be, rather vulnerable to counter attacks from anything remotely well armed.

Anyhow, I have no experience in the system and I was wondering if anybody who does has any pointers on it?

Hi YPU,
it's years since I played Dirtside - that was 1st Edition. From what I can recall we used artillery much as you have suggested although I'd be tempted to give them a minimal armour factor on the front arc only and possibly only against infantry weapons.

Hope that helps a bit - like I said it's been years since I looked at the rules so they're very hazy!
