Kings African Rifles - East Africa
« on: 14 February 2011, 06:21:05 PM »
After finishing up my German force for East Africa, I thought I'd get going on the KAR... Here's the latest:

...and that finishes up two units of 15.

I do also have some British regulars that I didn't put in the pic. Once I get the entire force complete I'll take another picture of the whole lot of them.

(the officers are from Coppelstone Casting, the sergeants from Battle Honors, and the askaris are of my own manufacture)

Whoo-hoo Tim!  Great to see that you are casting your own stuff again!

What great plans are afoot for the Dark Continent?

Actually I cast these years ago... I'm just getting around to painting them now...

Plans..? Oh, a little campaigning in East Africa... To start. I also picked up a pile of Turks.

I also picked up a whack of assorted Foundry "Darkest Africa" tribal warriors and Zulus and some Zulu era British. We shall see...

I've thought or a while of running a campaign set... I don't know... 1880-ish(?) on some stretch of fictional african coastline with colonies from a number of european powers that will eventually bump into each other as they expand... mayhem and open warfare eventually ensues - could be quite colourful - including Eurpean regulars, colonial troops, askaris, locally-raised settler militia, allied tribal-types, etc.
