We still have possible places on the campaign games and on the participation game of the Salute's Award winning game, 'You only live Dice'
Here is what is going on during the day:
Outline of the day’s events:
9:00-9:30 get to the hall, meet the 7TV representatives and glare at your rivals … Oh and have a cup of tea and let Dickie Jones (the organiser) have a copy of your cast list.
9:30 – 10:00 peruse the goodies on show and sale, get your cast revved up to go, receive your first shooting scripts and organise the location for the first screentest (ie meet your first opponent, get the table finalised and do the prologue ‘stuff’).
10:00 – 11:30 the first screen test will take place (see below for more details).
11:30 – 11:45 the first screen tests will be perused by Dickie Jones and helpers, Directors (yes that is you) will meet with him to get feedback (this is the first ‘public’ use of the campaign mechanics found in the soon to be published ‘Summer Special’). Your cast will then be assigned an afternoon screen test.
11:45 – 12:45 Directors are free to wander the local area and seek some refreshments and lunch. The locale we are filming in has everything from Souvlaki/donners, pizza, sandwiches to Fish and Chips. This will then be the time that the wares from the prop department (bring and buy), 7TV produce and the excellent set models (Ainsty) will be readily for sale (although there will be someone there for any onlookers who want to view the auditions and buy stuff at other times)
12:45-1:00 Directors must ensure their casts are ready to commence their second screen test.
1:00 – 2:30 Second screen tests.
2:30-2:45 second screen tests will be perused by Dickie Jones and helpers. Your cast will then be assigned a final screen test.
2:45-3:00 Directors will get their casts ready for the final screen test of the day.
3:00-4:30 final screen test – results of the final screen test will be added to days proceedings.
4:50 – the winning Director will be announced and prizes will be handed out.
5:00 onwards – wind down … More games can be played, beverages consumed, money spent etc until everyone decides to go home. A day well spent!
SIDE EVENTS:
The participation game for the TV7 Live and Let Dice game will be from 10:00 to 11:30 also, the board will be the location for the show down between the top two directors going into the last screen test in the afternoon! This will be written up for the Summer Special.
The event will be photographed and written up for one of the major magazines.
Kevin Dallimore is playing but he may also have some of his books to sell at the event as well.
There will be a few tables available (with a minion or two to keep their eyes on it if needed) to plonk any goods you want to sell that you think people may be interested in. Like a Bring and Buy without the hassle but with a limited audience I suppose. Again spread the word on this one too.
People will be able to gain admission to peruse and buy at any part of the day for a small donation to the Club funds so spread the word. Tell people who want to play the demo game of Live and Let Dice to get there for 10 though.
What you need to bring:
You need to bring a couple of copies of your cast list for the day. If you have a Heroic and an Evil cast then you can choose which one is to be used at the last minute but this can’t be changed during the day unless authorised by Dickie Jones. Exceptional circumstances like your stars all having a hissy fit and going home (it might happen with the campaign system) may allow the other cast to be substituted (after we all stop laughting).
Optional (but handy) – a decent bit or two of terrain, suitable for the day. Either country or urban you will get chance to use it on your tables during the day.
Prizes – if playing for the glory is not enough, then there will be the following prizes on offer.
Prizes and maybe even certificates for:
Best Director on the Day (with highest ratings after 3 matches)
Best Make Up and Costume award (for the 28mm casts obviously, not the players!)
Best One Liner of the day during the game.
Best ‘Back from the jaws of death’ victory.
