Who plays Reaper's Warlord ?
« on: July 04, 2011, 10:49:16 AM »
I'm trying to find out who plays Warlord in the UK and Europe?

If you do or have any thoughts and views on the game please post them here:

or reply to this thread.

No need to register for the MH forum, its an open board.

Thanks

Tim

Not yet but working on it. Just need to find a copy of the rules. Everybody seems to have stop selling them or they're out of stock  :(
...and what fresh new hell is this?

I have it since first edition, great game, unfortunatly I don't have anyone to play it with me. It's rather hard to get those rules like Mr Banjo says, but it's even  harder to get players over here in Germany.

I quite liked the campaing rules from the first edition. Has anyone ever tried to adapt those to second?
Far less active than I used to...

I have any army of it myself. Great skirmish+ game. I wish they would have put a builder in there so you could make your own stuff, but otherwise it is a really solid game.

I painted Crusaders and some sort of Egyptian undead and Wood Elf knockoffs for a customer about a year ago. So there is at least one group playing it here in Sweden. But I know next to nothing about the game myself.

I was actually planning to get myself into this last month but after a while of surfing the Reaper site I noticed that for whatever reason, the Warlord range had lost its "army boxes".  :?

I have two Army boxes and I won't use most of the models that came with them... Then again I won't use most of the minis I get with the Trooper blisters (come on, 9? Nearly nobody fields that much minis of just one type)

I've played it, and a lot of CAV, which uses the same engine. There's a good game in there, but there are things I do not like.  The initiative system forces you to play "big" and have a lot of units.  Each unit on the table gets a playing card, those cards are shuffled, and units go in the order they're drawn.

You cannot play the game small and have a satisfying experience because of this.  And it feels more like a skirmish game than a mass battle game to me, so this is frustrating.

I do really like the way a model's performance goes down as it suffers damage.  very slick.  And I like rolling D10's.  Gives you a wider spread of abilities than D6's in WFB.

Anyway, just my $.02.
