Fanticide - Who plays and what's out there?

Like it says on the header, how many people out there have played Fanticide? I bought the rulebook about a year ago, read it, then forgot about it. I have a few questions for those familiar with it;

How does it play? With the unique activation system and slightly random elements, how does the game feel to play?

What resources are around for the game? Before tackling my own attempt at creating a new army, what have other people done with it?

Any AARs around?

I was very excited about this game & grabbed a copy of the rulebook as soon as it was available. Loved the background & whole concept but when it came down to the actual nitty gritty of the game itself I found it all rather... well... underwhelming. I've not seen many AAR's or even much talk about it since it's initial release. There may be a superb game in there (somewhere) but I seriously struggled to find anything to get excited about & I'm guessing my rulebook isn't the only copy that's now sitting on a shelf & gathering dust.

I played a demo game with the Architects of War folks and it was meh.  But I did pick up the rulebook, templates and cards for $20 all in from the flea market.......................haven't looked at it since.

Again not particularly useful but there seems to be a theme here.
